 Fabrications
Southfields Engineering operate a precision
fabrication section for the production of small fabricated
precision components in small to medium volumes such as sheetmetal
brackets, pressed components, tube work and other multi operation
fabrications. Our capacity and services are detailed below:
Weld
Fabrications
We offer two types of welding, MIG Welding
and spot welding, for small and medium components upto 200kg.
Our experienced welders pride themselves on producing neat
clean welds that are mechanically sound and require little
to no secondry finishing. For thin gauge sheetmetal joining
we have a spot welder suited for material thicknesses up to
2mm. MIG welds that can be undertaken include butt joints,
lap joints and T joints including variations of such as bevel,
U, V and J features.
Sheet
Metal Fabrication
We undertake sheet metal fabrication
from sheet upto 1m wide although we are ideally suited to much
smaller production. Much of our sheetmetal production is in
the form of punched components, including peircings and blankings
although we do undertake shearing of sheet to size.
Pressed
Metal Components
Our fabrication department is equipped
with 4 fly presses and a power press. Production can be offered
for small batches upto 10000 off. We also accept customer tooling.
Assembly
Work
Assembly of fixtures and fittings can
be undertaken including assembly of springs, rubber, plastic
and other free issue components.
Heavy
Metalwork
Heavy metal work can be undertaken to
customer specification for components upto 200kg including
box & tube structures and frameworks.
